Yesterday the Dead Kennedys played at the Crowbar here in State College. The Dead Kennedys were one of the first punk bands I ever heard, so when I heard they were playing I was really excited. I admit that I haven't listened to them in a very long time, but it still sounded fun to see them live... But, the show was $18 per person!!! This was just too much for an hour of reminiscing. Lauren and I got a sandwich instead and had a good time nonetheless. We walked back by the Crowbar and heard one of the opening acts and were happy we decided to skip the show. I hope someday bands and clubs can charge a decent price for a good show. I truly believe the live show is the best way to experience music, so it really is a shame that seeing a band has become such an expensive endeavor.
In other news... I saw two kids in the IST building tieing their shoes right by each other. It made me chuckle because it looked like they were racing. What was really funny was that I never saw one of them finish. Of course, the winner was pretty fast ;)
